Your Daily NL Central Stupidity: Say Hello to the Second Place Cardinals
The Martin Maldonado trade and attendant Willson Contreras IL move got us good and distracted from last night’s sloppy loss to the Reds, but I’m here to remind you: it was a sloppy loss to the Reds. And that sucks.
Sorry. Sorry. I can’t delete it. But I can note that the Brewers lost again, too, which means the Cubs still have a SIZABLE lead in the NL Central. And, because this division is such a shitshow, the Brewers actually wound up slipping into third place.
Say hello to the second place St. Louis Cardinals:
After the Reds are done laying waste to the Cubs this week, maybe there’ll be a three-team tie atop the standings or something. Who knows anymore.
