Willson Contreras is currently on the Injured List with a sore foot/arch issue, but the Cubs have expressed optimism that he can return soon after his minimum stint is up (July 24). With Martin Maldonado in the fold now, the Cubs can afford to be patient, but things are already looking good.
The latest today, as Contreras gets back to baseball activities:
Willson Contreras took a full round of BP. The Cubs catcher is now warming up Cole Hamels in the outfield ahead of the pitcher’s bullpen session.
