#BNBlogathon: Join Me for In-Person Madness on July 31, Matching Offer, and One Make-A-Wish Granted!

Chicago Cubs

This is a really fun update to get to share – so much good stuff about our BN Blogathon fundraiser for Make-A-Wish!

First and foremost, your generosity has already pushed the Blogathon up to 34 straight hours at the Trade Deadline this year, because you’ve sponsored a child’s wish! I said I’d blog/tweet/video/etc. for 34 hours straight if we raised $6,000 for Make-A-Wish, and you’ve done it! So I’m up to 34 hours, and now for every thousand dollars we can raise from here, I’ll add another hour – up to 40 STRAIGHT HOURS of Trade Deadline madness! The fundraiser page is here, please and thanks!

And *if we get to that 40 hour mark*, our favorite Wrigleyville watering hole, Nisei Lounge, has made a generous offer: that second night of the Blogathon, July 31, they will host me for the final, absolutely delirious 6 hours of the Blogathon (5pm to 11pm) with special draft deals and a portion of those draft sales going to Make-A-Wish! It doesn’t get more win-win-win than that! You can come out, watch the Cubs play the Cardinals that night, have some drinks for a good cause, and watch me at the most crazy, sleep-deprived part of the Blogathon, LIVE! You know you want to experience that! (For those who can’t make it, I’ll obviously make sure to do plenty of updating, live-streaming, video’ing, etc. Who wants to see if I can play darts at hour 39 after a shot of Malort?!)

Lastly, there is an anonymous donor who wants specifically to match really large contributions to Make-A-Wish. So, if anyone is willing to contribute $1,000 or more to help Make-A-Wish do their incredible work for kids battling life-threatening conditions, please consider doing it now, and that donation will get matched. Your big donation gets doubled, immediately. I know it’s a huge ask, but the donor is making such a generous offer that give you all the chance to participate is the least I can do for a cause I believe in. The fundraiser is right here.

Thank you all so much for your support to a great cause! I can’t wait to have some painful, painful fun next week!
