The Brewers already needed to add a starting pitcher in the minds of most before one of their best pitchers, Brandon Woodruff, went down for the next six-ish weeks with an oblique injury.
Then today, the Brewers rotation suffered *ANOTHER* oblique injury:
Jhoulys Chacin “very likely” headed to the IL with a right oblique strain, Craig Counsell says.

Before you get too weepy for the Brewers, know that Chacin has actually been quite terrible this year, so it’s not altogether clear that even an emergency fill-in is going to be a downgrade for them.
That said, an arm off the board is an arm off the board, and the Brewers – should they still fancy themselves contenders for the postseason (as they would seem to) – might now be all the more incentivized to go after an arm on the trade market. Stay tuned.
