You are not experience deja vu. It all really did happen again.
The Cubs took a lead with a two-run homer, and otherwise did tons of nothing. Joe Maddon pulled his successful starting pitcher around 90 pitches. Curious reliever choices in the 8th inning, followed by the Cubs blowing their lead. Oh, and then Rowan Wick was brought in to clean up the inning after the Cubs had already lost the lead. Because reasons.
The Cubs gave us a new, fun wrinkle tonight, though, as Albert Almora went way deep to give them a one-run lead in the top of the 10th … only to have Craig Kimbrel give up homers to Christian Yelich and Keston Hiura in the bottom of the 10th to lose the game.
Cubs lose.
