2019 #BNBlogathon Check-In: Hour 12

Chicago Cubs

I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 40 hours straight, past MLB’s July 31 Trade Deadline and through the Cubs/Cardinals game Wednesday night, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS, etc.), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

Total Posts So Far:

News and Rumors Since the Last Check-In:

Hunter Pence makes sense for the Cubs. Pedro Strop’s injury is his neck. Joe Maddon defense his bullpen usage.

Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:

It’s definitely the increasing chance that Trever Bauer is traded, and the weirdness that the Reds are in on it.

This is also interesting, but would be boring:

Note: “Meets” was on purpose, but “series” was a typo. Hopefully that doesn’t mean the brain is going already.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:

Second verse, same as the first: Well, as predicted, they got their decent/interesting/not-sexy/not-expensive reliever in David Phelps. It’s fine. Perfectly acceptable.

Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

I can’t believe I made it this long before my first Coke Zero.

Where I’m Writing:

How I Feel:

Like I shouldn’t have gone with spicy Thai food last night plus tacos and hot chicken for late lunch …
