I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 40 hours straight, past MLB’s July 31 Trade Deadline and through the Cubs/Cardinals game Wednesday night, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS, etc.), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

News and Rumors Since the Last Check-In:
We’re just starting, but there’s the Ken Giles injury, Will Smith possibly still being moved (but I doubt to Cubs), and rumors about a big Yankees/DBacks swap.
Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:
I’m going to cheat and throw back to last year, because I’m working off of last year’s updates as a model, which reminded me that this happened as the Blogathon began last year: “Obviously it’s the ARod ripping on Yu Darvish stuff. I still don’t know what to make of it.” Remember that? When Alex Rodriguez went on Sunday Night Baseball, talking about how there were questions on his injury, about whether he was rehabbing properly, working hard enough, etc. It was absurd at the time, and then got a whole lot more absurd in hindsight when (1) Darvish described the kind of pain he was in, and (2) wound up having surgery.
Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
It’s all very up in the air right now, but I suspect the Cubs will be adding a decent bench-type bat, and a decent middle-type reliever. Given the state of the team and the state of the division, I’m fine with that. At least have to add some useful pieces.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:
Bryan is absolutely absurd and also awesome:
Wow. @cubprospects is the best. Also, he will never, ever let me live this down … #BNBlogathon pic.twitter.com/bOxtkG04Ue

Where I’m Writing:
😂 I had to move. I had been sitting right there, and suddenly I was in a sea of people with tiny kids. #BNBlogathon pic.twitter.com/YhpsqyQ4Ot

How I Feel:
Really good energy. That was probably the best night’s sleep I’ve gotten before a Blogathon, so that’s a great start.
Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:
I’m trying to do more of this year’s Blogathon out and about in Wrigleyville, which means I have to be planning (1) where to charge, and (2) where to pee.

You could just swing by and give them your trade proposals.
Or for real fun, take them trade proposals from the comment section on BN.#BNBlogathon pic.twitter.com/8PKHe4Zphw— Yu-Tang Clan (@newboyx) July 30, 2019
Road trip from Pittsburgh to Chicago, so fully expecting lots of MLB trade activity for #BNBlogathon coverage to keep me entertained @BleacherNation
