2019 #BNBlogathon Check-In: Hour 8

Chicago Cubs

I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 40 hours straight, past MLB’s July 31 Trade Deadline and through the Cubs/Cardinals game Wednesday night, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS, etc.), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

Total Posts So Far:

News and Rumors Since the Last Check-In:

Things happened! The Cubs traded for David Phelps. They also are going to put Pedro Strop on the IL and call up Duane Underwood. The Indians may be in on Nick Castellanos.

Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:

Obviously it’s the Phelps trade, but also its relationship to the state of the bullpen (crowded), and the moves that have to follow.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:

Well, as predicted, they got their decent/interesting/not-sexy/not-expensive reliever in David Phelps. It’s fine. Perfectly acceptable.

Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

Thanks, Kim!

Where I’m Writing:

How I Feel:

Still great. Fresh air hooking me up with happiness.

Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:

I am going to want lots and lots of dessert type stuff this evening, but I don’t know how much sugar I can shove in me today/tonight before tomorrow is rough.
