A couple of the Cubs’ new guys will be in the house tonight against the Cardinals, with Tony Kemp already on hand (he was traded to the Cubs today for Martin Maldonado), and David Phelps arriving after yesterday’s trade.
Phelps will take the spot of Duane Underwood Jr., who was up for a day but didn’t appear (he took Pedro Strop’s spot when he hit the IL). Kemp takes Maldonado’s spot.
The Cubs expect Tony Kemp and David Phelps to be active for tonight’s game in St. Louis. Duane Underwood Jr. has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. And Carl Edwards Jr. is headed to the Padres, per @ESPNChiCubs.

Also, the Cubs DFA’d Oscar De La Cruz to open up a 40-man spot.
