It’s been the anthem of 2019 – well, at least half the anthem – as the Cubs looked just terrible in all phases right out of the gate tonight, and it was a non-competitive loss before they’d even stepped to the plate for the second time through the order.
Kyle Hendricks had nothing in the way of command, and his velocity looked down a click or two. The strategy seemed to be to work the Reds up, but boy, it was not doing anything good.
From there, the Reds pilled on as the Cubs didn’t even manage to get a hit until the middle innings.
