10-1. That was the Cubs’ lead. For an inning or so, it felt just amazing to see that the Cubs had beaten up on Thor, and were about to win their second straight(!) road series!
… and then Kyle Hendricks imploded, and the bullpen put us through a series of terrifying moments, culminating in a terrifying 9th inning that required Craig Kimbrel to close the game out. Yikes. At least they won, and indeed took that second straight road series. That’s cool.

The Cubs managed an incredible 10 runs off of Noah Syndergaard, which is something I saw coming even less than the drama that followed. The bats packed it in from there, which ain’t great, but when you score 10 runs, I’m not going to take any shots at the offense.
