The Cubs lineup was just announced – and we’ll get to it shortly – but there’s something you need to know up front: Yu Darvish isn’t making his regularly scheduled start against the Brewers this afternoon, and, unfortunatly, it’s because of an injury that he’s apparently been dealing with for a while.
Check it out:
Chatwood starting today. Darvish dealing with right forearm tightness and Cubs will skip one start in hopes it alleviates the issue.
Darvish has been dealing with this last 5 starts and is fully expected to make his next start after today.

Darvish has apparently been dealing with this for as long as the last month – while pitching pretty darn well, you might recall – so hopefully this really is just a precaution (and nothing more), so that he can continue pitching at this level for the next month.
As for what comes next, the Cubs do say they expect him to make his next start, but (1) they have a history of being overly optimistic on these things, (2) Darvish dealt with injuries to his triceps and elbow last season, and (3) you’re never feeling good after an announcement like this, even if it’s precautionary.
Hopefully, Tyler Chatwood’s up to the task in the meantime.
