Kyle Schwarber and First Base Work Together to Clear the Bases as the Cubs FINALLY Score Some Runs

Chicago Cubs

Kicked off by a run-scoring single to center by Anthony Rizzo, and capped off by an Addison Russell RBI groundout, the Cubs just put up a five spot in the 7th inning. That ended an interminable 24-inning(!) scoreless drought.

In the middle of Rizzo’s and Russell’s RBI, you had Kyle Schwarber and the BABIP gods coming together to clear the bases for the Cubs:

Bonus points to third base coach Brian Butterfield in the background, waving his arm so hard like he might never get to wave in another runner again. “OMG YOU GOTTA GO SCORE MAN FREAKING GO GO RIGHT NOW”
