According to Jordan Bastian, the Chicago Cubs have scratched Kris Bryant from the starting lineup tonight in the finale against the Mariners, which really stinks. Just as the Cubs got Ben Zobrist and Willson Contreras back, they’ll play this one without Javy Baez (thumb) and Kris Bryant (knee).
The good news is that the Cubs have an off-day tomorrow, so Bryant can take two days off before playing against on Thursday night. But that’s not much solace.
I’ll update this post and the lineup post when we know more.
UPDATE: Ian Happ will replace Bryant at third base tonight, and not even I am happy about that.
Kris Bryant was scratched due to right knee soreness.

UPDATE II: I honestly have no idea what this actually means – could it be less clear – but here’s an update from Joe Maddon:
Maddon on Bryant: "a little hitch on the giddyup.I don't think it's awful." Encouraging reports on Baez, Darvish
