It wasn’t an absolute blowout or anything, but the game got pretty uncompetitive pretty quickly, and then worse from there.
The bats couldn’t get it rolling (more hard contact that didn’t fall in against the Brewers – you know the drill), and Cole Hamels was really off once again.
We’ll have to talk more about Hamels, but man, it’s just like he’s where he was after his last oblique injury – healthy, but totally out of whack. The velocity is still down and the command is not there. So he’s not hitting his spots, he’s not missing bats, and he’s getting lit up. Running out of time.
