To be honest, I almost forgot today’s game was an early one, despite it being a Friday at Wrigley Field. I just became so consumed by last night’s heroics … and ultimate loss that playing another game slipped my mind. There’s still time left, but we’re firmly in the danger zone now. Here’s the Cubs lineup for Game 2 against the Cardinals.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:Â
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Nicholas Castellanos, RF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
- Willson Contreras, C
- David Bote, 2B
- Jason Heyward, CF
- Nico Hoerner, SS
- Alec Mills, P
The Cubs are rolling with a largely similar lineup to yesterday’s group, with the exception of David Bote starting at second base instead of Ben Zobrist. Also, here’s your reminder that Alec Mills is starting today in place of Jose Quintana, who’s starting tomorrow in place of Cole Hamels.
I have no complaints regarding today’s lineup, as we’re basically in “best-9” mode until the season ends. Maybe we should’ve started doing that sooner.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (1:20 CT).
