OMG: Anthony Rizzo Shared What His Ankle Looked Like When He Returned to Action, and It is Horrifying

Chicago Cubs

Anthony Rizzo is a freaking monster. I know you already know this, but man.

OK, so I’m gonna post the image that Rizzo just put on his Instagram Story, dated September 20, the day he returned to action for the Cubs. I’m guessing he didn’t want to share it until he knew his season was over because, holy lord, it is an extremely effed up ankle.

Gonna give a little space here in case you decide you don’t want to see it.

It’s not bloody or anything, but it’s a really damaged ankle.

I have badly sprained an ankle, and I was on crutches for a month.

My ankle did not look remotely this bad.

OK, are you ready?

Anthony Rizzo is a beast:

I mean, you can’t even see the bone there because it is all so freaking swollen. That’s not even to mention the extreme bruising. That’s just such a very damaged ankle, and I’m glad he’s now going to get some rest.

Oh, and all Rizzo did during his week of action playing on that mutilated hunk of beef? He hit .400/.429/.600 (169 wRC+).
