There is literally no doubt in my mind that I’ve been stuck in the “denial” stage of grief with respect to Joe Maddon’s departure. For the most part, I haven’t really let myself think about it too much, especially as the rumors of new managers begin to pour in, because, well … it’s been working.
No longer.
The Cubs just released a farewell video of Joe Maddon, sharing some of his best and brightest moments with the Cubs. And even though there’s not too many shots of 2018 and 2019, it’s easy to see what we’ll be losing. It’s all washing over me now.
I’m gonna miss you, Joe. You were great.
