I know it’s something of an annual tradition, beefing about the Rawlings Gold Glove award finalists. Every fan base thinks three or four of their guys should at least be finalists.
I know I’m just playing into it. I know that it’s cool that Anthony Rizzo is a deserved finalist at first base in the NL once again, and I know that it’s cool Jason Heyward is right back up there as a finalist in right field after doing his part frequently in center field, too.

But this is just a freaking joke:
Even setting aside how great he always looks out there, Javy in the NL at SS was:
2nd in Def Runs
2nd in UZR
3rd in DRS
4th in UZR/150 (miles ahead of Ahmed)In no universe should he have been excluded from the top three. Joke. Ridiculous.

Heck, Baez’s value by FanGraphs’ total defensive metric was the third highest in ALL OF BASEBALL among ALL non-catchers. And he’s not a *finalist* in the *NL*?
What-the-eff-ever.
