If there is a bright spot in Chicago sports today, it’s Anthony Rizzo. And the Cubs aren’t even playing?
Rizzo had his 2020 option picked up by the team (not that it was unexpected, but it’s nice to have him back next year, obviously!), and then tonight he capped the day off by winning his third Gold Glove:

Rizzo, 30, rated as the best defender in the NL at first base in UZR, UZR/150, and DEF, though he trailed a few guys in DRS. He remains elite at receiving errant throws, which is something we’ll all suddenly miss sorely if he’s ever gone. He is also as aggressive as they come defending the bunt, which I’m sure is a real pain in the ass to many NL managers.
