Oof, massive traffic accidents, plural, on the highway near our house left nearly our entire city in gridlock this morning – everyone was trying to go everywhere else throughout the city to try to avoid the highway (or they were simply stuck on the highway). It took me a half an hour to get down the road to the gym and the coffee shop. I just hope everyone was OK, because that’s pretty scary when that happens.
One thing to remember as we wait for Souza contract details: a team can wait 20 days to file a contract with the league. For a team with 39 roster spots, it would behoove the Cubs to wait as long as Souza and his reps are comfortable with (all assuming it’s a Major League deal).

If the goal of this offseason was to put the 2020 Cubs in the best position to succeed? Colossal failure. Probably can't be fixed.
If the goal of the offseason was to still have a chance in 2020 while building for 2021 and beyond? Also a colossal failure so far. Not too late.
