Cubs GM Jed Hoyer said that there was still time in the offseason for trades, but if it’s going to happen for the Cubs, it’ll run right up against the advent of Spring Training.
Today, the Cubs loaded up their supplies for moving day, sending all their gear southwest to Mesa for Spring Training, which begins in just eight days when pitchers and catchers officially report.
It’s kinda weird not to have the HYPED vibes this close to Spring Training, given how much uncertainty – and inactivity – has presided over the offseason. I’m not alone in this, right? I keep waiting for that click over moment where I start hotly anticipating the 2020 season, and it just hasn’t happened yet. Easily the latest it has been for me, even dating back to the start of the rebuild.
