The incredulity wore out about three injuries ago, so all you can do at this point is marvel that this guy just keeps on trying.
Brandon Morrow got over his latest ailment (chest) just in time to strain his calf:
Brandon Morrow told me he threw Thursday and his chest felt good. Unfortunately he was running afterwards and felt something in his calf. Had an MRI yesterday and has a mild tear in his calf (Grade 1 plus) and will be sidelined 10-14 days.

In some ways, this is yet another injury for Morrow that kinda doesn’t matter. He wasn’t going to pitch with the big league team, if ever, any time soon anyway. So he’ll have to sit down, which is more rest for his arm anyway. Maybe he winds up being able to pitch at midseason, maybe he doesn’t. It just sucks that he keeps having to fight through the constant barrage of various injuries all over his body.
Morrow is with the Cubs on a minor league deal, so if he’s never able to come back, there’s nothing lost but whatever residual hope you have had. He has pitched in the big leagues since mid-2018.
