San Francisco Bans Gatherings of More Than 1000 People for Two Weeks

I’m not even sure which category to put this in, because it’s highly like that this is only the beginning for the NBA and also for MLB.

San Francisco is banning large crowd gatherings, which means major sports will not be played in front of fans there over the next two weeks:

For now, that means the Warriors game tomorrow night will presumably be held for only essential personnel (and televised). The team does not return to San Francisco for two weeks, at which point it seems possible this ban will have been extended.

The Giant’s home opener is not until April 3, so this ban does not currently impact an MLB team. Yet.

But, with a Warriors game now impact, it’s only a matter of time before other locales featuring major sports teams follow suit. The biggest questions right now would be about games in Seattle and New York, but obviously this could all blow up very quickly and much wider.
