I can’t believe it’s already been three years since the utterly bizarre moment that a bouncing strike three somehow got stuck to Yadier Molina’s chest protector.
Three years ago today, Yadi Molina's chest protector made me very suspicious … pic.twitter.com/0clvcZtwPH

At the time, there was considerable debate about whether that was due to a substance on Molina’s gear, or whether it was just some other random way that a seam of the baseball got stuck to the chest protector. Whatever the case, Molina wasn’t eager to discuss it after the game, and it kinda petered out after that.
I’m guessing, from Cubs fan perspective, that’s partly because (1) the team was fresh off winning the dang World Series, and (2) Molina being unable to corral that ball ultimately wound up preceding this game-winning shot by Kyle Schwarber:

That was definitely one of the crazier Cubs innings of the last few years. Fun times.
