Here’s a head-scratcher: getting up at a consistent time every day, before the kids awake, is really good for my mental health because it allows me to start my day off calm and quiet, with some mediation and planning. However, I am one of those people who needs 7+ hours of sleep per night or my mental (and physical) health is wrecked. But I haven’t been able to consistently get to sleep early enough to actually get that volume of sleep before rising in the morning to do the first thing! I’ve been hoping that eventually I’d just be so tired that of course I’d start to fall asleep earlier, but, well, as anyone out there with anxiety knows, this ain’t exactly a great time for successfully falling asleep.

A wonderful, Jackie Robinson-themed donation on Jackie Robinson Day: Thomas Tull, who produced the movie about Robinson's life, is donating $4.2 million worth of personal protective equipment to hospitals that serve the African-American community/others hardest hit by COVID-19.
