In stark contrast to the unquestioned joy of PITCHERS-AND-CATCHERS-REPORT!, today is more of a … OK … here we go. Players report today. Gulp.
I wrote about that set of mixed feelings this morning, as baseball takes it first step back today: players are reporting to Wrigley Field to begin the formal process of trying to make this thing work. The players and coaches will get physical exams today, which will include a test for COVID-19. The process will play out in a staggered fashion, as most things are these days, and the players will then be able to have their first team workout at Wrigley Field on Friday. For those who are safe and healthy, that is.
