Cubs Will Play Three Preseason Exhibition Games Against White Sox and Twins

Chicago Cubs

In conjunction with the release of the new regular season schedule, the Chicago Cubs also announced the three exhibition games they’ll play at the end of Summer Camp. Each team is permitted to play a maximum of three exhibition games.

The Cubs will get the White Sox twice and the Twins once:

You can bet that the games will be broadcast on Marquee, which means there will be a sense of urgency to get a deal done with Comcast (and hopefully YouTube TV and DISH, though I’m less optimistic there as they’ve each been changing their strategy on sports).

The games will be a nice opportunity for a little more game action other than intrasquad play before the regular season kicks off, but obviously it’ll be nothing like playing a normal set of Cactus League games. Get some competitive at bats in against less familiar pitchers, give your arms a chance to work a few more competitive outings, and that’s that.

As you can see, that first exhibition game is coming in less than two weeks at Wrigley Field. That’s wild.
