The crazy thing is that the Cubs bullpen somehow still walked five guys.
(Original post follows.)
Am I confident this game will go off without a delay tonight, given the rain in Cincinnati? Nope. But I sure hope it does. Even with a loss, the Cubs have already guaranteed themselves a road series split against a division rival, which is all you can ask for (even if so much more is on the table).
Speaking of which, if Yu Darvish and the Cubs manage to beat Luis Castillo and the Reds tonight (taking 3 of the first 4 games (in a 10-game season matchup (against a team who’s supposed to contend for the division this year))), they’ll have put themselves in a very good position for the rest of the (shortened) season. And again, at worst, they have a tied series with six games left to go.
Compared to last night, the Cubs have made very few changes to their lineup, mostly just moving guys around, and the Reds are rolling with the exact same 1-9. Let’s go.
Tonight's game between the Reds and Cubs is not expected to start on time. Your friends behind AtReds will provide you, our friends on Twitter dot com, updates when we learn more information. ☔️
