I like to check in on former Cubs when they do interesting or great or notable or … hilarious … things.
So it is with former Cubs lefty Derek Holland, perhaps best known for giving up the walk-off grand slam to Bryce Harper last year, which kinda felt like the moment we all knew the season was gonna be a bust. Despite his brutal 2019 campaign, Holland was actually a pretty solid starter for the Giants in 2018, so maybe it isn’t as shocking as you think that he got a job with the Pirates this year.
That said, it, uh, isn’t going well. Holland started today against the Tigers, and gave up FOUR home runs in his FIRST 11 PITCHES. Four of the first five batters he faced homered:

4️⃣ home runs
3️⃣ straight
2️⃣ + 2️⃣ = four, which again, is how many homers we hit
