Hey! The Chicago Cubs have won two games in a row *and* they’re getting Tyler Chatwood and Jose Quintana back from the injured list. A little positivity in our lives is always nice.
And indeed, Chatwood is getting the ball tonight in his first start since getting knocked around a bit by the swing-happy Kansas City Royals, who were aggressive, swinging hard and often, and getting a little lucky on balls in play. Considering that generally fine underlying performance and Chatwood’s soon-to-follow injury, I’m not particularly concerned about him going forward. He may still need a bit of an adjustment period before he’s back to 100% effectiveness, but don’t lose sight of how good he looked in his first two starts of the year.
And, hey, we may also see Jose Quintana in a bit of a piggyback situation tonight, so keep an eye out for that.
