Game 1 of the double-header went to the Cardinals, but here’s how David Ross will line his guys up for game 2.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:Â
1. Ian Happ, CF
2. David Bote, 1B
3. Kyle Schwarber, LF
4. Javy Baez, SS
5. Jose Martinez, DH
6. Jason Heyward, RF
7. Victor Caratini, C
8. Nico Hoerner, 3B
9. Jason Kipnis, 2B
Dakota Hudson was supposed to start the second-half of this double header, but with Kwang Hyun Kim’s surprise trip to the ER, he was pushed to Sunday, with a “bullpen game” replacing him tonight.
As for the lineup, there are a few big changes, most notably no Anthony Rizzo or Kris Bryant. David Bote is covering first base for Rizzo and Nico Hoerner is covering third for Bryant. Jason Kipnis is playing second base and with Victor Caratini behind the plate, Jose Martinez is back at DH. This is one of the strangest lineups of the year, but with a bullpen game on both sides, what do you expect?
You can expect your Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (7:50 CT).
