At some point the Cubs simply have to get on another roll, and there’s no better time to start than right now.
After dropping 3 of 5 to the Cardinals over the weekend and staring at six straight games against the Reds and Brewers in the beginning/middle of September, the wins have to start pouring in again – lest they ruin a third consecutive run at the postseason in September. It’s not a fun tradition and it needs to stop.
Unfortunately, Alec Mills has not been on top of his game of late and Tyler Mahle has been really solid against the Cubs twice this year. Let’s hope both narratives get turned on their head tonight.
Go Cubs.
