Tonight is the Cubs final game against the Reds this season. And if the Reds don’t find a way to sneak into the playoffs, as was expected at the outset of the year, it could be their last game against each other until 2021 (that is assuming, of course, the Earth is still here a year from now…).
Adbert Alzolay is taking the mound for Chicago and Sonny Gray gets on the bump for the Reds. The pitching matchup favors Cincinnati, and Chicago is playing without starting Jason Kipnis or Kyle Schwarber, but the Cubs still must find a way to come out on top – maybe even get one of those former MVPs to start hitting again. I don’t know. Just an idea.
Go Cubs.
