It’s been a couple weeks since the last positive player test in MLB, but we’re back on the cycle.
The Giants and Padres were called off just before the start of the game because of a positive test:

Giants confirm: “Tonight’s game was postponed due to a positive COVID test within the Giants organization. MLB will announce additional information regarding the status of our series with San Diego as soon as possible.”

You can presume that the Giants will now be shut down for at least the weekend while additional testing and contact tracing is conducted. If everyone is fortunate, this will be like the most recent episodes with the A’s, Reds, and Mets, where there was a player positive, the team was quarantined while tested, there was no additional spread among the team, and games could resume within a few days. You hope that not only for the schedule, but also for the health and safety of the team.
