The Cubs’ offense was non-existent again, and they dropped tonight’s game to lose the series to the Twins. It’s not like it’s “worry” time yet – in terms of the standings, I mean – but the Cubs are gonna need to win a game or two this week. Just throwing that out there.
Yu Darvish came out of the gate struggling with his command before settling in for the middle innings. But then a double and a homer in his final inning hung a four-spot on him, which not only put the game out of reach thanks to the weak bats, but also might’ve sunk Darvish’s Cy Young hopes, given the razor thin margins this year.
Speaking of razor thin margins, even if Darvish had been at his best, it wasn’t going to matter in this one.
