It’s always too easy to attribute a player’s success in a given at bat or a given game to some singular event that creates a really comfortable narrative.
But, man … the very night after Kyle Schwarber was yanked by David Ross in an apparent effort to light a fire under the slugging outfielder, Schwarber responds with his first TWO extra-base hits OF THE MONTH.

Schwarber was pulled there for Billy Hamilton (non-disciplinary! that’s just game decision stuff!). On his way off the field and into the dugout, Schwarber was getting David Ross’s attention for a really nice moment between the two:
