Yeah, I know what I did in the title. I don’t care. It’s after dark in the offseason.
Today marks the anniversary of not one but two of the best Chicago Cubs homers in recent memory: Javy Báez’s 8th inning game-winning shot against the Giants in the opening game of the 2016 NLDS, and also Kyle Schwarber’s two-run monnnnnnster homer off of Gerrit Cole in the 2015 Wild Card Game.

For Javy’s blast, I was watching at Yak-Zies in Wrigleyville, as tense as ever and then leaping into the air when the ball left his bat (I didn’t see it come down live, because I assumed it was waaaaaay gone (thanks, wind)):
For Schwarber’s shot, I was watching at the now-closed Mullen’s in Wrigleyville, for one of the craziest atmosphere’s I can remember – we hadn’t seen a Cubs game like that in a lonnnnng time:
