After some time to rest up from his “season” at the Alternate Site in South Bend, top Chicago Cubs prospect Brennen Davis is back in action.

Davis, 20, blew up sufficiently in his first full pro season in 2019 that the Cubs included him as one of just two very young positional prospects in the 60-man player pool (together with Christopher Morel). He put himself on the national radar (he’s a top 50-75 prospect to most), and he became the top Cubs prospect as far as we’re concerned.
Now, Davis will get in some more game action for the next couple weeks before the offseason really begins. The Cubs, like other orgs, are making do with the development opportunities the pandemic is affording. Here’s hoping next year we won’t have quite as much make-shifting, in part because I want to see some Davis highlights and stat lines in actual minor league games!
