The Little Boy asked me to help him with an assignment in exchange for him helping me do some of my work. I said he could help me fill this space in the Bullets, on which I sometimes draw a blank. He said I could just write about this very thing. So here I am. Boom. He helped, and fulfilled his half of the bargain.
• Listening to Tommy Hottovy talking about Yu Darvish shaping his many pitches sure is neat:
Tommy Hottovy had a front-row seat to Yu Darvish's dominance this season.

• Some love for the Cubs other ace:

• Dang, I’m just reminded how nice it is that the Cubs have two aces – in my mind, at least – right now. And how fun it is to see a couple different styles of pitching, both highly unicorn-like and highly effective. Nobody out there does it like Hendricks. Nobody out there does it like Darvish. Yeah, there are questions and intrigue about what comes after the front two in the 2021 rotation, but knowing that we’ll get to watch Yu Darvish and Kyle Hendricks take the ball for the Cubs next year makes me happy. You know, unless one or both are dealt this offseason. HAPPY SATURDAY!
• It’s all still a pretty big mystery on what the Phillies are going to do, but one thing Jayson Stark now reports – they’re focused on landing a President of Baseball Operations right now, and dealing with the open GM gig later on:
"They have been trying to gauge the interest of a small group of experienced…baseball people with proven, winning track records."
After weeks in which their plans were a mystery, the #Phillies will interview candidates for prez of baseball ops next weekhttps://t.co/Vfqgwc31Ol

• We’ll see if the Phillies have quietly been trying to backchannel with the Cubs on Theo Epstein – still an open question whether he leaves now or next offseason – but it’s still pretty hard for me to imagine Epstein immediately jumping into a new big market presidency, and it’s a little weird to think about the Cubs sending Epstein out to take over another NL organization. My best guess is if the Phillies fill their presidency this offseason, it means Epstein was never really an option for them.

• Amazon is into its early Black Friday deals, which today includes Beats headphones, Sonos sound gear, bedding, Magic cards, and much more. #ad
• Eh, I’m not so sure about this:
Daniel Descalso’s time with the Chicago Cubs has ended and despite horrendous on-field play he will leave a lasting mark on the franchise. Rightfully or not Descalso represents Cubs ownership choosing cheapness over winning. https://t.co/f8MMIqQ1BD
— Beyond the Box Score (@BtBScore) November 14, 2020
• The Cubs paid more for Descalso than they did for Tommy La Stella, the guy they swapped out. They really *liked* Descalso and thought he was the right guy. … they were just wrong. That whole series of interconnected deals was a small-scale disaster for the Cubs, who were wrong about Descalso, wrong about La Stella, and wrong about Conor Lillis-White, the pitching prospect they got for La Stella who never threw a pitch in the org. To me, it was less about money, and more about just being wrong.
• More on the historic Kim Ng hiring:
Dancing. Literally dancing. So well deserved. Kim, I’m so happy for you and proud of the Marlins! https://t.co/RoqufR2ANK
— Rachel Folden (@FoldenFastpitch) November 13, 2020
Let's be perfectly clear here. Kim Ng has been among the most qualified GM candidates for the past two decades. She has always been capable of running a Major League team. This isn't a risky hire — it's a smart one, by a team that obviously wants to win a World Series.

Long overdue moment not only for baseball, but for sports. Thank you, Marlins.
Mrs. B and I recently explained “the glass ceiling” to our young daughter. She threw her arms in the air and yelled: “I can break the ceiling!”
Yes, you can. No dream should feel unattainable. https://t.co/DCv2FkFcn4
