I’m just going to warn you up front, this story/video is an absolute tear-factory. So if you’re not in the vicinity of a Kleenex box, I’d stop now and turn away. But if you’re looking for an extra dose of warmth on a cold Chicago morning, the connection between these two Cubs and Sox fans may be exactly what you need.
The video is well-produced and fairly brief, so I’m not going to spoil too much of the journey. But in short … Cubs fan Bridget Kolls was recently in desperate need of a kidney, so she made a sign about her story and brought it to Wrigley Field, asking for some help. Shockingly, she got a response from a heroic White Sox fan watching the game, who happened to be a match.
The rest is a story of humans helping humans, even when they have their differences. You will feel things, and you deserve that today:
This Chicago @Cubs fan received a kidney from a very unlikely source. https://t.co/7BziwIkvEq pic.twitter.com/u6IpqU5hg8
