Tampa Bay Rays postseason star Randy Arozarena was reportedly arrested in Mexico after an altercation with his ex-wife and ex-father-in-law, and an attempt to take his daughter from them.
Arozarena, who defected from Cuba to Mexico before coming to the United States to play baseball, allegedly physically attacked his ex-father-in-law in the process of attempting to forcibly take his daughter, and there may have been additional violence. Details are still coming out:

Details are still emerging, and there’s the additional layer of translations, so I want to be a little careful offering too much certainty on exactly what is going on beyond the report of the arrest. Even without the layer of translation, these situations are potentially more complex than a tweet or a short, breaking article allows you to see initially.
More details as they become available, but I expect we’ll be hearing from the Rays and/or MLB very soon.
UPDATE: There is purportedly video of the incident and/or the aftermath:

UPDATE 2: ESPN Deportes has more details here. The situation is all still under investigation, and, like I noted above, it seems only the fact of Arozarena’s arrest has been confirmed (not any of the allegations). The initial investigative process will take place over the next 48 hours, at which point there may be more information available on what actually happened, and how things will proceed.
