I already see the jokes, but I don’t think this one is all that bad when you consider the forward-looking love the Cubs are trying to capture. There’ve been stinkers before, and this one isn’t a stinker. It’s tough to match ‘Let’s Go’ and ‘Fly the W.’
Today the team announced its new marketing slogan, and it seems appropriate enough to me if we’re hoping to do the Wrigley Field thing again at some point next year: “The new marketing campaign, ‘Cub Together,’ is a celebration of what unites us even at a time when it is important we stay apart. The campaign is inspired by the many ways fans continue to express their love for Cubs baseball as we eagerly await the moment we can ‘Cub Together’ again in person at Wrigley Field.”
