Baseball – all of baseball – is coming back in 2021.
Today, Minor League Baseball announced its schedules for the season ahead, with the freshly realigned full-season leagues kicking off on April 6 (AAA) and May 4 (AA and below). The AAA season will consist of 142 games this year, lasting until mid-September. The AA, High-A, and Low-A seasons will be 120 games, and will also run until mid-September.
This is all, of course, subject to changes forced by the pandemic, but the plan is now officially in place. I cannot wait for Minor League Baseball to return this year.
For the Cubs’ affiliates, you can see the full schedules here: Iowa Cubs, Tennessee Smokies, South Bend Cubs, and Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
