It’s official: Pedro Strop is back with the Chicago Cubs.
The long-time Cubs reliever hit some bumps in 2019, departed for the Reds in 2020, and then returned to the organization late in the year but didn’t wind up leaving the Cubs alternate site. So he re-signed on a minor league deal a couple weeks ago, and now he’s officially back in camp. He may or may not make the bullpen – it’s a crowded, crowded competition – but having his delightful, positive, veteran presence at camp can only be a good thing. From there, who’s to say he’s not fully healthy now and able to put some things back together? Let’s see what happens.
