In-Game Fun: Mic’d Up Ian Happ Compliments His Own Single As He Hits It (VIDEO)
Cubs outfielder Ian Happ is mic’d up today, giving the Marquee crew an inning and a half of extra color. He got in compliments for Anthony Rizzo’s baserunner (smart, but not fast), excitement about fans returning to Wrigley Field, and even noted that he was video scouting Rangers starter Kohei Arihara before today’s Spring Training game.
But the most fun part, clearly, was when he was mic’d up for his own at bat, and then gave himself some love for correctly calling what the first pitch would be, and sending it cleanly through the shift:

“Yeeep, there you go. Told you. That’s what I was saying. If he’s gonna throw me a first-pitch heater, what else am I gonna do?”
