During Daylight Savings Time (which began last night (so wind those clocks back)), Arizona is two hours behind Chicago instead of just one. So today’s Cubs game against the Angels at Sloan Park will actually be at 3:05 CT instead of 2:05, as it has been for most of the spring.
This game *will* be televised on Marquee, however, which is fun because there are a whole lot of stars in the starting lineups from both teams (Mike Trout, Anthony Rendon, Albert Pujols, and our old friend Dexter Fowler are all starting for the Angels). Willson Contreras is the only Cub regular not in the lineup for Chicago, with P.J. Higgins getting even more reps behind the plate in Austin Romine’s absence (knee).
As far as the second base battle goes (at this point, I’m not sure if it’s even much of a battle, as opposed to just mostly Nico Hoerner’s job to start the year) David Bote is starting at second base and Nico Hoerner is the DH, which makes sense because, if anything, Bote needs more work on his fielding and Hoerner more work on his hitting.
Remember, 3:05 start time. Go Cubs.
