Watching his earlier at bats, and also reflecting on recent at bats, I had something to say about the state of Kris Bryant’s swing.

KB is in one of those spots where he's juuuuuuust missing drivable pitches in the zone. You know it with him because he fouls them back, very consistently. Hopefully just priming himself to break out for opening week …

That is to say, when he looks like this, historically, he’s really close to getting into a solid groove. I was just making a general point, though, and I wasn’t trying to predict what was going to happen in his very next at bat.
