We like to rib the White Sox because CHICAGO RIVALRY and whatever, and certainly White Sox fans like to give us grief about – among other things – the Jose Quintana trade. But I still have a huge soft spot for former Cubs prospect Eloy Jimenez, whose bat always looked like it could be otherworldly, and who I just want to see have big league success. He’s fun to watch, and seems like a good dude.
The glove, on the other hand, has always been a huge question mark, and today it may have really cost him. Hopefully he’s not seriously hurt, but he tried to go up over the wall to rob a homer, caught his left arm in a weird way, and then was down and out of the game:
Not good. Eloy exits the game after trying to rob a home run. pic.twitter.com/7rQ0BDbwy7

Notice how he hung up there for a moment longer than it seemed like he should have? Something funky happened with his shoulder or his elbow when he went over the wall, because he shouldn’t have hung up there like that. He looked to be in a lot of pain immediately, and left the game with the trainer.
I really hope it was not a serious injury, but it didn’t look good.
