Do with Spring Training stats what you will, but there is some data analyses out there to suggest that a FIRE Spring Training performance does suggest a guy should slightly have his preseason projections moved up a touch.
Very few players are having the kind of Spring Training Joc Pederson is having in his first go with the Cubs, so maybe you should bump up the expectations for him for this year, at least slightly. That is Pederson’s 7th homer of the spring in just 17 games, which gives him the lead in the Cactus League, and ties him with Red Sox slugger Bobby Dalbec (Grapefruit League) for the MLB lead.
